This type of inspection is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel. No matter how experienced a sailor you are. A Pre-Purchase Survey is a detailed and comprehensive examination of the entire vessel and her systems including: structural integrity, electrical systems, propulsion system, fuel system, other machinery, navigation equipment, miscellaneous on-board systems, cosmetic appearance, electronics, overall maintenance. It also includes hauling out for an out-of-water inspection and a sea trial.
